Would you like a private tour of Topsail Island?

Well you should check out Tiki Tours of Topsail Island. Tiki Time is a pontoon boat that cruises up or down the island lead by Master Captain James A. Ross. Up to six passengers can board Tiki Time for a one to two hour cruise from the Surf City boat ramp. Captain James will give you a history of Topsail Island as well as educate your group on island and marine wildlife that you may possibly see on your cruise or time around the island. There are three tours to choose from. You can head north to the High Rise Bridge to see wild goats, or you can head south towards the missile towers and vacant islands. There is also a one hour sunset cruise along the intracoastal with breath taking views of Topsail Island.

The Third Annual Hops of Spring Beer Festival will take place April 26 from noon until 7:00. The Greater Topsail Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism is hosting this festival in Surf City. There will be live music performances and a dozen craft beer stands providing samples and entertainment all afternoon. Madison Rising, Clam Slammers and

Blue Tang Bandits are just a few of the entertainers. $25 early admission and kids enter for free.

Proceeds from this event will be shared with the Hope for the Warriors out of Jacksonville, NC.

The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Hospital will be opening for visitors and tours at their new location.

Guests are welcome to check out the new facility as well as meet their new arrivals like Gunnar, Valor and Dane. This rescue team has rescued and rehabilitated hundreds of sea turtles and released them back into the ocean. This is a wonderful center to learn more about sea turtles and how we can enjoy the beach without harming their habitat. The 100% volunteer run sea turtle hospital is a great resource to find out where and when the sea turtles are nesting on Topsail Island. It is also a great place for locals to volunteer and help the rehabilitation hospital.

Ecological Marine Adventures is a free community aquarium and marine exploration lab located at 912 South Anderson, Topsail Island. Locals and vacationers are offered a chance to participate in educational activities and programs that enhance our beach environment through knowledge and exploration. The aquarium consists of touch tanks, ray touch pool, microscopes and much more.

Ecological Marine Adventures offers Spring and Summer programs for kids and families including marine science, ICW paddleboard, and ghost crab monitoring classes. Lil Buddy's Surf School also offers surf classes and camps for all ages and family classes as well.

The 3rd annual Phlip Phlop Bar Hop on Topsail Island is just around the corner. This event is hosted by The Water Parrothead Club and all proceeds will go to the Coastal Therapeutic Riding Program of Wilmington. On Saturday, March 15, registrants will meet at 12:00 at the Brass Pelican. From there begins an afternoon of island bar hopping and socializing, visiting six different restaurants and bars on Topsail Island.

The $30 registration fee includes and T-shirt, bus ride and much more fun and entertainment. The Water Parrothead Club is a social not-for-profit group that helps the community with fundraisers and volunteer work to help out in the Topsail Island community. The Coastal Therapeutic Riding Program of Wilmington provides quality equine assisted activities and therapies for individuals with special needs.
